SBIPL have benefited from favourable wind farm locations at Jaisalmer which are exposed to relatively high wind speed. Higher wind speeds generate more power using the same equipment than lower wind speeds. The site was selected from the list of sites by Ministry of Non-conventional Energy sources for wind farming. It has connectivity for evacuation of power though RRVPN. Excellent infrastructure has been developed by Enercon at site enabling the unit to get high machine availability. Enercon also take care of the operation and maintenance of the plant. Hence, there is no botheration of up keep of the project.
